GSA Administrator & Rep. Meeks Highlight Investment for New York in President’s Fiscal Year 2017 Budget

Will support investment in New York infrastructure

NEW YORK – Today, U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Denise Turner Roth and Congressman Gregory W. Meeks outlined how the President’s Fiscal Year 2017 budget request for GSA invests in federal infrastructure, including an $8.5 million request for a repair and alteration project for the modernization of the Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Office Building. The proposed project builds on the agency’s commitment to be an economic catalyst and stimulate job growth in communities across the nation.

The Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Office Building, constructed in 1989, is a 12-story office building in Queens, NY, currently occupied by the Social Security Administration (SSA) . By partnering with local stakeholders like Rep. Meeks, we can ensure we maximize federal investments to create an exceptional national resource,” said Administrator Roth.

“If fulfilled, the $8.5 million request would renovate the Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Building, thereby benefiting the surrounding community and Jamaica-Queens. In addition to improving the building, this federal investment would create jobs, stimulate our economy,
