Is my company eligible to obtain a GSA Schedule Contract award?
The qualifications needed to obtain a GSA Schedule Contract vary slightly from schedule to schedule. However, the following are key elements of your offer that will be reviewed to see if your company is eligible to be awarded a GSA Schedule contract:
- Commercial pricing and past performance
- Contract scope (your supplies/services are within the defined scope of the Schedule)
- Financial capability and solvency
- Technical and other regulatory compliance
- Small Business Subcontracting Plan (if you are not a small business)
Other eligible criteria is determined by the status of your company. For instance, if you’re a qualified nonprofit organization you may be able to make purchases under the GSA Federal Supply Schedule. This Federal Supply Schedule is used for making or providing a commodity or service to the government. Qualified nonprofit organizations typically fall under the category of serving the blind or other severely handicapped individuals.
State and local governments also use GSA Schedules and have a set of eligible criteria for GSA Scheduler holders as well. For instance, under the Disaster Recovery Program, state and local governments can purchase any GSA schedules to facilitate recovery from all forms of disasters such as terrorism or any major disasters declared by the President.
