OASIS Small Business Contracts Awarded
The General Services Administration (GSA) announced this week that it has successfully awarded its first contracts for the One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) contract, which is a major vehicle for contractors. OASIS was designed to address government agency needs for professional service requirements that:
[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” width=”300″ ]- Span across multiple professional service disciplines
– Contain significant IT components, but are not IT requirements in and of themselves
– Possess Ancillary Support components commonly referred to as ODCs
– Require flexibility for all contract types at the task order level including cost reimbursement; and any one or combination of all of the above
The companies who received the first OASIS contract awards were recognized for their ability to provide the government with best-value solutions for its complex professional services needs that meet the above listed requirements. Small businesses that sign on with OASIS will be able to receive both commercial and non-commercial services. The GSA was compelled to award OASIS small business contracts ahead of the OASIS rollout to maximize opportunities for small business contractors.
Another contributing factor was the U.S. Air Force’s support of OASIS small business contract. Last August, the Air Force Space and Missile Command (SMC) stated that it wanted to use the OASIS small business contract instead of its own SMC Technical Support program. The Air Force pursued to utilize the OASIS contract and signed a memorandum of understanding on December 19 solidifying their previously informal embrace. This deal will provide an estimated value of $1.3 billion per year for the OASIS small business community.
The GSA plans to announce additional contract awards for successful bidders next month after they have gone through the OASIS evaluation process. OASIS small business contract is an excellent opportunity for small businesses to work with the government and expand their business. According to the GSA, the core services of the contract include: logistics, engineering, scientific, financial, program management and management consulting.
